Glimpsing God in the Garden

I once heard someone ask, Who was the first farmer?
The answer surprised me: God.

Yes, God was the first farmer. He planted a garden in Eden and placed man there. He created this world with intention and beauty, filling it with His imagination and inviting us to tend it and delight in it. What a gift!

Maybe this is why nature teaches us, heals us, and inspires us. Sometimes if we slow down and notice, we can catch a glimpse of Him—walking in the garden… calling to us.

Don’t you think?

Keys to the Kingdom Part 3: To the Ends of the Earth

12 Mins read
May 20, 2026

In this Sojourner Storycast episode, we see that the gospel of Jesus was never meant for one nation alone. What began as a promise to Abraham now reaches the Gentiles through the story of Cornelius and Peter. As Peter enters the home of a Roman centurion, God reveals that the good news of Jesus is for every nation, every background, and every person who believes. Through the vision of the sheet and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, Peter witnesses something incredible: the same Spirit given in Jerusalem and Samaria is now poured out upon the Gentiles. This was not the result of human effort, Jewish customs, or ceremonial laws, but of God’s sovereign grace. Through Jesus Christ, the dividing wall between Jew and Gentile is broken down, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, God gathers people from the ends of the earth into one family in His kingdom.

May 13, 2026

In this Sojourner Storycast episode, we see that the gospel of Jesus breaks down walls that have divided people for generations. What began with persecution in Jerusalem did not stop God’s plan—it carried the message of Jesus into Samaria. Through Philip’s preaching and the power of the Holy Spirit, people who were once separated from God’s people are now welcomed into His family. When Peter and John arrive, they witness something incredible: the same Holy Spirit given in Jerusalem is now poured out in Samaria. This is not the work of human effort, but of God’s sovereign grace. Through Jesus, the dividing lines between people are torn down, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, God unites all who believe into one family in His kingdom.
